Cuevas, Montes Meet at Olympic March 7
Former World Boxing Assn. welterweight champion Pipino Cuevas of Mexico City returns to the ring in the super welterweight division, facing Herman Montes of Los Angeles at the Olympic Auditorium Thursday night, March 7.
Cuevas has a 30-9 record and will be making his first start since losing a 10-round decision at the Olympic last July 12 to Junsok Hwang of Korea. Montes has a 33-3-4 record.
On the same card, former WBC super featherweight titleholder Rafael Bazooka Limon of Mexico City, launches a comeback against Arturo Frias of Los Angeles. Frias held the WBA lightweight crown in 1982, losing it to Ray (Boom Boom) Mancini.
