Lakers Meet Suns Tonight at Phoenix
PHOENIX —
The Lakers can reduce their magic number for winning the Pacific Division title to eight games if they beat the Phoenix Suns tonight at Veterans Coliseum.
Phoenix (27-32), which trails the Lakers by 15 games, has lost five straight and has dropped to third place, half a game behind Portland.
The Lakers (42-17) are the only team in the division with a winning record.
Suns’ guard Walter Davis scored a season-high 22 points in a 110-103 loss Tuesday night at Kansas City. Davis has missed more than half the season with a knee injury.
