Three Sued Over Student Loans:The U.S. attorney’s office has filed civil complaints against three Orange County residents for allegedly defaulting on their student loans. The suits, filed in federal court, name David Y. Leung of Westminster, Richard F. Barham of Stanton and Maynard A. Barber of Anaheim. The complaints were among 25 filed in Los Angeles as part of a campaign to recover unpaid student loans made by the Department of Education. Similar suits have been filed throughout the country against 15,000 former students who still owe the government more than $4.5 billion in education loans. The U.S. attorney’s office said those who have judgments entered against them and do not respond can expect levies on their wages, bank accounts and automobiles.
