Two Argentine nationals and a Huntington Beach man have been arrested on suspicion of selling 17 ounces of high-grade cocaine to an undercover agent, culminating a three-month investigation, police said Thursday.

The three men were arrested at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Costa Mesa apartment of one of the Argentines, Mario Carrasco, 45, police said.

The other Argentine arrested was Oscar Hugh Hernandez, 39, who lives in Newport Beach. Michael Edward Duffy, 28, of Huntington Beach, also was arrested at the 635 Baker St. apartment.

Police spokeswoman Jo Anne Bergstrom said the arrest was made after the undercover agent allegedly bought the 17 ounces of cocaine from the suspects. A search warrant to search Carrasco’s apartment was obtained and officers allegedly found an additional six ounces of the drug.

The street value of the cocaine was estimated to be $200,000, she said.

Three three were booked into the City Jail on suspicion of selling cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale. Bail was set at $250,000 for the two Argentines and $25,000 for Duffy, Bergstrom said.
