A field of eight was entered last Friday to run in today’s $150,000-added Santa Susana Stakes at Santa Anita.
All of the entries in the 46th running of the 1 1/16-mile event for 3-year-old fillies were assigned 117 pounds.
Fran’s Valentine, who will be ridden by Patrick Valenzuela, drew the inside post position.
Following is the rest of the field, from the rail out: Rose Cream, Sandy Hawley; Rambolie, Darrel McHargue; Savannah Dancer, Bill Shoemaker; Trunk Rafael Meza; Rascal Lass, Ray Sibille; Goldspell, Laffit Pincay, and Wising Up, Eddie Delahoussaye.
If all eight entries go to the post, the total purse will be $163,600 and the winner will collect $96,100. Althea, the winner of last year’s race, competed in the Kentucky Derby.
A field of 14 is entered to run in Saturday’s $80,000-added Santa Gertrudes Handicap, a 1-mile race on Santa Anita’s turf course.
Assigned high weight of 121 pounds was Rake, who will be ridden by Pincay and break out of the inside post position.
