Local News in Brief : Hospital Releases 1st of Quadruplets
The first of a set of quadruplets born to a Van Nuys couple in February went home from the hospital Friday. The others remained under doctors’ care.
Kenneth Charles Lach, born Feb. 24, was released to his parents, Bill and Bridget Lach, at 4 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Kenneth, who weighed 3 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces at birth, had grown to 4 pounds, 7 ounces.
One of his sisters, Kathryn Bryn, now weighing 3 pounds, 15 ounces, is in good condition and is scheduled to be released in about a week, the spokeswoman said.
The other babies, Matthew Evan, 3 pounds, 2 ounces, and Rachel Claire, 4 pounds, 4 ounces, remain in stable condition but are considered too weak to send home.
The babies were the fourth set of quadruplets born in the Los Angeles area in less than a year.
