Chief of Police Lee Tracy has retired from the police force because of illness, according to a statement released by City Manager Edward Kreins.
Tracy began his career with the department 22 years ago. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1976 and served as commander of traffic and detective divisions.
Tracy is credited with organizing and managing the traffic division and reorganizing the department’s detective division. He also was responsible for overseeing the transfer of parking enforcement to the Police Department.
