Golden West Loses a Pair of 2-0 Games

The Golden West College softball team got only three hits in two games as it lost twice in the Golden West Softball Invitational on Saturday.

In the 2-0 loss to Pasadena City College, the Rustlers were held to just one hit by Susan Rodriguez. That hit was a first-inning single by Dana Ramos.

Pasadena got its first run with Debbie Schnieder’s RBI triple. The Lancers second run came after Carla Shaw singled and scored on outfielder Ro Courtney’s triple.

In the losers’ bracket, the Rustlers got only two hits losing again, 2-0, this time to Central Arizona.

The Vaqueros scored in the first inning after Rhonda Gorraiz walked, stole second and came home on a single. Their second run came in the fourth when Tracey Almajall singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on a throwing error.
