Minnesota Beats Las Vegas and Will Face Sockers Next

Minnesota forward Thompson Usiyan scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Strikers to a 4-1 victory over the Las Vegas Americans Wednesday night, clinching the best-of-five quarterfinal playoff series 3-1.

The victory, before 5,094 fans, advanced Minnesota into the best-of-five semifinal series against the Sockers. San Diego, which had the best record in the Major Indoor Soccer League during the regular season, got to the semifinals by beating the Kansas City Comets. The first game is set for 6:05 p.m. Sunday at the San Diego Sports Arena.
