Alexander H. Cohen, executive producer of Broadway’s Tony Awards and the two “Night of 100 Stars” entertainment specials, was named Thursday to serve as executive producer of this year’s Emmy Awards telecast.

Hildy Parks, Cohen’s wife and partner, will serve as writer and producer of the TV awards show, which will be broadcast on ABC Sept. 22.

Cohen produced the Emmy Awards program for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 1978. For the last three years it has been produced by Dwight Hemion and Gary Smith.
