A spectacular blaze burned more than 1,200 tons of hay Friday afternoon at a dairy farm in unincorporated Riverside County, just north of Norco.

The fire burned between 1,200 and 1,500 tons of hay at the Star Valley Dairy on Chandler Street, said Dale Hutchinson, a county Fire Department dispatcher. No injuries and no damage to structures at the dairy were reported. The worth of the hay had not been calculated, he said.

Firefighters from the Norco and Corona city fire departments and the U.S. Naval Weapons Center in Norco assisted fire companies from the county’s Corona, Pedley, El Cerrito and Glen Avon stations in extinguishing the blaze.
