Rowdy Fans Cause Tigers to Close Bleachers
The center-field bleachers in Tiger Stadium will be empty--declared off-limits by the Detroit management because of rowdy fans.
At the conclusion of Saturday night’s 7-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox, the Tigers announced that the bleachers will be closed indefinitely “due to the continued chanting of profanities by a segment of fans sitting in the area.”
In a release handed out immediately after the game, club President Jim Campbell said: “ . . . The Tigers will not condone such activities.”
