A restored World War II-vintage airplane stalled, crashed and exploded 150 feet from a throng of 30,000 onlookers during an air show at Lemoore Naval Air Station, killing the pilot, a Navy spokesman said. Kirk McKee of Sacramento, a last-minute entry in the air show, was killed in the crash, base spokesman Dennis McGrath said. He identified the plane as a single-engine T-6 Texan. Witnesses said the motor seemed to sputter before the plane went into a high-speed stall 100 feet off the ground and crashed nose first.
