A Chula Vista man was killed Monday when a car struck him as he was jay-walking northbound across the 1700 block of Palm Avenue shortly after midnight, police said.
Alfred Servantes, 48, died of multiple internal injuries when he was struck by a westbound car driven by Saul M. Valdez, 53, of San Diego, Sgt. Ralph Priem said.
Valdez told police that he did not see the victim, Priem said.
Valdez was not held. Police are continuing the investigation.
