Apartments in Tarzana Damaged by Fire
Nine fire companies were called to put out a fire Sunday afternoon that crawled up the walls of a three-story apartment building in Tarzana and burned for more than 45 minutes, city fire officials said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze that broke out at 12:53 p.m. at 18550 W. Hatteras St., according to Los Angeles city Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.
The fire caused approximately $90,000 in damage, with apartments on the second and third floors apparently suffering only smoke damage. No tenants were expected to be displaced by the blaze, which was limited to the interior of the walls.
The cause is under investigation.
