Party Leader Scores Surprise at Hollywood Park

Party Leader moved into an early lead and held on Friday to win the 48,700 Avatar Stakes at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Gary Stevens, who was aboard three winners Friday, Party Leader finished a half-length in front of Somethingwonderful, ridden by Laffit Pincay. Silent Fox, ridden by Ray Sibille, finished another half-length back.
Party Leader ran the mile in 1:34 and paid $14.40, $8.80 and $5.40.
