30TH FESTIVITIES
Disneyland throws a 24-hour bash, beginning 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, in celebration of its 30th.
A kick-off show highlighted by rainbow light effects will take place at midnight. The park will showcase early-morning concerts, starring Animotion and Sister Sledge.
A 4 a.m. performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade will feature scenes from classic Walt Disney motion pictures.
Afternoon events include Disneyland’s 30th Anniversary parade and a special rededication ceremony in Town Square at 2:30 p.m., the hour at which Walt Disney originally dedicated Disneyland on July 17, 1955, with guest hosts Ronald Reagan, Robert Cummings and Art Linkletter.
