Thanks to Oceanside’s Leta Lindley and Bonita’s Christy Erb, players from the San Diego area weren’t completely shut out on the leader board after the first day of the Junior World Golf championships.

Lindley and Erb shot 75s (3 over par) on the Balboa Golf Course to tie for second place, three shots behind Tina Trimble of Hawaii in the girls’ 13-14 division.

Also at Balboa, Ramon Brobio of Manilla, shot a one-under-par 71 to take a one-shot lead over Hawaii’s Cory Okuna in the boys’ 13-14 division.
