A Vista Municipal Court clerk pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of submitting a fraudulent claim to San Diego County for expenses previously paid her by another agency.
Kathleen DeForge of Escondido appeared before San Diego Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Zumwalt, who dismissed seven other perjury and false claims charges against DeForge.
Sentencing was set for Sept. 5 and DeForge could receive a year in jail and a $10,000 fine. Deputy Dist. Atty. Allan Preckel said his office has agreed not to ask for a state prison term.
Court proceedings are still pending for two other former employees of Vista Municipal Court. The former court administrator, William Hartford, 40, of Fallbrook, has a change of venue hearing set for Wednesday, and his former secretary, Jo Allen of Oceanside, is to go to trial Aug. 8.
