Strings Are Beaten by St. Louis, 26-22
The St. Louis Slims defeated the Los Angeles Strings, 26-22, Thursday night in a TeamTennis match at the Forum before a crowd of 1,085.
The Strings led, 16-14, at intermission, but the Slims ralled with wins in the men’s singles and doubles. Terry Moor of St. Louis defeated Vince Van Patten, 6-2. Moor then teamed with John Matke to beat the doubles team of Van Patten and Ross Case, 6-4, to clinch the match.
