L. A./San Gabriel Unit : Landscape Contractors Honor Top Achievers
A San Bernardino firm has won the sweepstakes award of the Los Angeles/San Gabriel Valley chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Assn.
The top honor of 64 projects entered went to Michael Cripe Landscape for the Embassy Suites Hotel project in Phoenix.
According to Harold Britton, awards chairman, the presentations are the result of professional competition among contractors for excellence in landscape installation, design and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.
The judges merit award was won by Elite Landscape for the McAlearney residence, Redlands; colorscape award, Zen Landscape, for Kaplan residence, Westwood; special effects, Howard Folkman, for Levyn residence, Los Angeles; judges award, Toddco Landscape Co. Inc., for Flicker residence, Los Angeles.
Humanitarian awards were presented to Glenn Koyama, Koyama Landscaping, Temple City, for the Los Angeles County Arboretum; Richard L. Segal of Richard L. Segal and Associates, Santa Monica, for the Greater Los Angeles Press Club; Howard Folkman, Environmental Creations, Van Nuys, for Ronald McDonald House, Los Angeles.
Other humanitarian awards and the beneficiaries: Bob Cornell, Zen Landscape, Los Angeles, for The Children’s Institute International; Henry Soto, Four Seasons, Compton, the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, and Carl Kono, Kono Landscape Service, Los Angeles, for Estrella Park, all in Los Angeles.
