NAACP’s ‘Freedom ‘85” Radiothon to Start Friday

“Freedom ‘85,” the annual radiothon sponsored by the 36 Southern California branches of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People, will be held Friday through Sunday, officials announced Wednesday

Profits will to go to the victims of the July 2 Baldwin Hills fire. The event, which will be open to the public and will include appearances by performers such as Ashford and Simpson and actress Debbie Allen, is to be broadcast live from Dorsey High School, 3537 Farmdale Ave. Stations participating, a NAACP spokesman said, are KJCH-FM, KGFJ-AM and KBAI-FM.
