Forgive Fuentes, Democrat Urges
In your Aug. 11 edition, Msgr. Wilbur Davis’ letter admonished Orange County Republican Central Committee Chairman Thomas Fuentes on comportment and rationale. Bouquets to the monsignor.
I find it strange that our Roman Catholic prelates do not speak out on many political matters, such as the tenets of the Roman Catholic religion versus the tenets of political parties.
It seems to me that one cannot be a good member of the GOP and also be a good member of the Roman Catholic faith. Roman Catholic religion is strongly based on compassion and generosity. On the other hand, the GOP comes across as exactly the opposite, opposite to such a degree as to throw a drowning man an anchor.
A pillar of the church I am not, but I’ll stick with my Roman Catholic religion and the Democratic Party. My reflecting comes across as a solid case of no other choice.
