Van Nuys Girl, 6, Crushed to Death
A 6-year-old Van Nuys girl was crushed to death Sunday morning when she was pinned between a car and a truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. A spokesman said the girl was standing behind the car when the parking brakes failed and it rolled into the parked truck.
Anne Marie Hyde was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene at San Francisquito Canyon Road north of Bouquet Canyon Road, Officer Mike Kerr said.
The girl was killed when a Volkswagen Beetle rolled into a Mitsubishi pickup.
