Lazers Sign Mahoney, Cornwell and Cardenas

The Los Angeles Lazers have reached agreements with three players for the 1985-86 season, the Major Indoor Soccer League club announced Monday.

Defender Lee Cornwell, goalkeeper Mike Mahoney and forward Juan Cardenas will all return to the team for the upcoming season.

Cornwell, who became a free agent after last season, signed a two-year contract that also contains an option year.

Mahoney, who set a club record for victories in a season with 20 last year, signed a new contract for the 1985-86 season. He was going into the option year of his old contract with the club.

The Lazers agreed to pick up the option on Cardenas’ contract.
