Safety Tips Will Be Given at Home Show

Talks and demonstrations on how to make and keep homes and grounds safe and beautiful will be featured at the Home Decorating and Remodeling Show, Friday through next Sunday, in the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

The show, organized by Art Benson Productions of San Diego, will present Pop Larson, Builders’ Emporium do-it-yourself expert, celebrity cooks who will demonstrate the art of chocolate making and small appliances from Buffum’s.

An editor from Sunset magazine, representatives from the National Foundation for Environmental Safety Inc. and the Santa Monica Mountains NRA (National Recreation Areas), will demonstrate how to make properties safer from brush fires. Burns in the home will be discussed by members of the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, and off-duty firemen will show the use of pool pumps, smoke detectors and extinguishers in fire fighting.

The show will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $4 at the door, with discount coupons offering $1 off the regular admission.
