Autopsy Planned for Unidentified Body
An autopsy is planned this week to determine the identity and cause of death of a man whose decomposed body was found over the weekend in a remote, brushy area near Castaic, authorities said Sunday.
Deputies were called to a site about 1 1/2 miles north of Lake Hughes Road and the Golden State Freeway shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday when a horseback rider reported discovering a body, Sgt. Carle Goyen said.
He said deputies found no obvious signs of how the man died. The man, possibly a transient, had been dead for two or three days, Goyen said.
