Irvine Women Win First Soccer Match

The UC Irvine women’s soccer team defeated UC San Diego, 3-1, in its inaugural match Sunday in San Diego.
The Anteaters trailed, 1-0, but Kim Cusimano scored to tie the game at halftime. Lori Heinselman and Kelly Grimm scored second-half goals for UCI.
The Anteaters play host to UC Davis next Sunday.
In other soccer action:
BYU 3, Southern California College 1--The Cougars (3-2) took a 2-0 halftime lead in their win over the Vanguards (0-1) in Provo, Utah. SCC’s next match is tonight at LaVerne.
