Hiker Missing in Angeles Forest
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies, search-and-rescue teams and a helicopter combed the rugged mountain terrain north of La Canada this morning for a 56-year-old Beverly Hills man who failed to return from a daylong hike on Sunday.
Deputies said members of Benjamin King’s family called the department shortly after midnight to report that he was overdue. King, an experienced hiker, had told relatives that he planned to spend the day alone in the Strawberry Peak area of the Angeles National Forest, officers said.
