Guardian Angels’ Sliwa Arrested
Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels patrol, was arrested with a uniformed security guard in Hollywood after they allegedly punched and clubbed a Los Angeles man who tried to visit a friend in a neighborhood the group had sealed off in an anti-drug crusade, police said today.
Sliwa, 32, and private security guard Stephan Hulbert, 32, were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Edward Kockis, 22, told police that Sliwa and Hulbert attacked him Thursday night near the corner of St. Andrews Place and Melrose Avenue, where a dozen members of the Guardian Angels have been demonstrating against drug pushers who peddle dope in the neighborhood.
