Pharmacist Gets 16 Years for Illegal Drug Sales

The owner of a Rancho Palos Verdes pharmacy was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years in prison for illegally selling prescription drugs.
Eric Weiss, 42, of Rancho Palos Verdes pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court Aug. 20 to five counts of distributing controlled substances during 1981 and 1982.
Weiss owned and operated the Golden Cove Pharmacy.
The state Board of Pharmacy in March, 1983, revoked Weiss’ pharmacist’s license and his permit to operate the pharmacy.
