Quarterback Lynn Dickey, who has described himself as inconsistent on the field this season, asked the Green Bay Packers to remove him from his starting assignment, the National Football League club said.
Coach Forrest Gregg, whose team is 1-2, said he would comply with Dickey’s request and assign second-year reserve Randy Wright as the starting quarterback for the game Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
