Four people were killed when their plane smashed into brush-covered Kern County terrain and burst into flames, officials said. The Cessna 210 crashed in the privately owned Tejon Ranch, about five miles from Lebec. The names of the victims and the cause of the accident were not immediately available. In Oakland, three men died when a single-engine plane rammed into the fog-shrouded hills just south of the Caldicott Tunnel. Fire Chief Neil Honeycutt said the plane, a four-seat Grumman Tiger, apparently hit an electrical power wire. Names of the victims were not immediately available.
