Heavyweight Gerry Cooney told ABC-TV that he would like to return to the ring and fight Michael Spinks, the International Boxing Federation champion.
Appearing on “SportsBeat,” Cooney told host Howard Cosell that he still dreams of becoming heavyweight champion and that his manager, Dennis Rappaport, was meeting this week with Butch Lewis, who promotes Spinks’ fights.
