5.7 Quake Jolts Jakarta

JAKARTA, Indonesia —
An earthquake Wednesday rumbled through western Java, one of Indonesia’s most densely populated areas, causing high-rise buildings to sway in Jakarta. No casualties or serious damage were reported immediately. The meteorological office in Jakarta said the earthquake, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, was centered 50 miles south of Jakarta.
