A former FBI agent testified during a drug case in U.S. district court in Pittsburgh that he had been told that running back Tony Dorsett of the Dallas Cowboys openly used cocaine in public, but did not use it in connection with any alleged fixing of football games.

Dorsett denied publicly using cocaine.

Dan A. Mitrione, 38, testifying during a trial of nine Pennsylvania and Florida residents accused of participating in an international drug ring, said he learned from two Dallas businessmen that some Cowboys were throwing games for cocaine.

“Tony Dorsett was mentioned as openly using cocaine in public, but not fixing games for it,” said Mitrione, who pleaded guilty in March to accepting more than $850,000 in bribes in exchange for stealing more than 90 pounds of cocaine that he had seized.
