AT LONG LAST, MORE SPORTS!
You can’t get your fill of football, basketball, boxing, golf, auto racing, harness racing . . . even year-old Olympics events? Help is on the way.
It’s Prime Ticket, a cable service that premieres Saturday with an exhibition game between the Lakers and Celtics, the first of 200 live events planned for the first year.
Prime Ticket, initially available to about 800,000 cable subscribers in the Southland, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona, will includes games by the Kings, Lazers and Strings, plus USC, UCLA and U. of Hawaii sports.
Good news: This won’t cost subscribers anything extra; it’ll be delivered as part of the basic service. Bad news: The bill will instead be footed by advertisers, at up to 12 minutes of commercials per hour.
