USIU’s Maritz Has Second-Round Lead
Junior Laurett Maritz of United States International University shot a three-over-par 74 Thursday to retain her lead after two rounds in the Nancy Lopez women’s collegiate golf tournament in Tulsa.
Maritz, a two-time All-American from South Africa, shot a 71 Wednesday, giving her a 145 total. Tied for second place one stroke behind are Carolyn Pierce of Houston Baptist and Caroline Keggi of New Mexico.
As a team, USIU is sixth with a combined score of 629. Host Tulsa leads at 602. The tournament ends today.
Another USIU player, Helen Alfredsson, is in a three-way tie for 19th place with a two-day total of 155.
