Office Plaza, Church Share Parking Area

Ground has been broken for Civic Center Plaza, a $6-million, 42,084-square-foot project of Hawthorne Development Co. at 30011 Ivy Glenn Drive, Laguna Niguel, with completion scheduled for March, 1986.

A total of 195 parking spaces on a concrete pad will be provided under a shared parking arrangement with a planned Presbyterian Church, Synod of Southern California and Hawaii, from whom the property was purchased.

When the church is built, office tenants and churchgoers will use the parking at non-conflicting times, according to Richard A. Hawthorne, president of the developing firm. The church will share construction and maintenance costs of the parking.

The two-story building on 2.3 acres, designed by Marc Dale of Newport Beach, is directly across from the South Orange County Regional Civic Center and will offer office space from 400 to 20,000 square feet. The leasing agent is Coldwell Banker.
