Six people were injured early Sunday when a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of a Reseda street collided head-on with another car, police said.

The crash occurred about 1:10 a.m. in a south lane of Reseda Boulevard near Saticoy Street, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ken Staggs said.

Driving north in that lane, Isabel Castaneda, 29, of Northridge collided with a car being driven by Salvador Esquivez Santoyo, 37, Staggs said.

He said Castaneda, who was in critical condition Sunday at County-USC Medical Center, is expected to be arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.

Officers at the scene said that, in their opinion, Castaneda was too intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle, Staggs said.

Three passengers in Castaneda’s car were injured. Armando Mareno, 24, Enrique Perez, 24, and Jose Rodriguez, 19, all of Northridge, were listed in satisfactory condition at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, Santoyo, and his passenger, Frank Morales, 26, of North Hollywood also were admitted to the Northridge hospital. They were in satisfactory condition.
