East County
A 38-year-old East County woman was found dead in the wreckage of her car Saturday after it ran off State Highway 94 and landed in a ravine, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Nancy Sue Kessler was on her way to watch her son’s football game in El Cajon about 7:30 p.m. Friday when she apparently lost control of her car and it flipped into a 20-foot deep ravine, coroner’s deputies said.
Kessler’s family and volunteers began searching for her when she failed to return home Friday night. A volunteer firefighter from Dulzura found her body in the overturned car about 6:45 a.m. Sunday, about five miles from her home on Barrett Lake Road, the CHP said.
