An IRS agent testifying in the trial of Don King said the boxing promoter owes the government $223,100 in back taxes. King and associate Constance Harper are alleged to have skimmed $1 million from Don King Productions and are charged with 20 counts of tax evasion, conspiracy and filing false tax returns.
According to the testimony of Robert Charboneau, a 20-year IRS veteran, during three years in question, King reported personal income of $1,260,174 and paid $611,373 in taxes. The government calculates King’s true income at $1,706,000 and his tax bill at $834,473.
