Candelaria’s Son Dies After Lengthy Coma

The son of Angel pitcher John Candelaria, in a coma since Christmas Day, has died, the club reported Thursday. He was 2 1/2.
John Robert Candelaria Jr. died late Wednesday night at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. He had been in a coma since a swimming pool accident at the Candelaria winter home in Florida.
Memorial services will be held today or Saturday in Ross Township, Pa.
