Pitcher Jim Dorsey Released by Boston
Pitcher Jim Dorsey, a graduate of Cleveland High and Valley College, was released Thursday by the Boston Red Sox.
Dorsey, 30, spent most of his 11-year career in the minor leagues but posted a 1-3 record and 11.78 earned-run average in the majors.
He was acquired by Boston in a 1981 trade with the California Angels that sent him, Frank Tanana and Joe Rudi to Red Sox for Fred Lynn and Steve Renko.
