A Canoga Park machine shop foreman shot and killed a fellow worker Friday in a dispute over a woman, then killed himself, Los Angeles police said.

A third man was wounded in the shoulder by a stray bullet during the incident at Passive Microwave Technology, an electronics firm at 8030 Remmet Ave., Lt. William Gaida said.

The foreman, Gerald Ray Pannebeker, 46, of Canoga Park and Phil Gilbert Bailey, 24, an electronics technician from Canoga Park, were pronounced dead at the scene, Gaida said.

Gaida said that the two men had a festering feud over an unidentified woman and that, at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Pannebeker got a rifle from his car and shot Bailey once in front of other employees.

Another bullet struck the co-owner of the firm, Robert A. Weiss, 47, of Simi Valley, Gaida said. Weiss dived through a plate-glass window in an attempt to evade the gunfire and ran bleeding to a nearby convenience store, Gaida said.

Pannebeker then shot himself in the head, Gaida said.

Weiss was taken to Westpark Hospital in Canoga Park, where he was in stable condition Friday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
