Geneva will be the base for most network news programs this week as the summit meeting between President Reagan and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev unfolds. NBC’s “Meet the Press” will originate there Sunday. ABC, CBS and NBC all will beam their evening newscasts from Geneva beginning Monday, along with ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Part of NBC’s “Today” show will originate there each morning.

Hawaii is the setting for “Blood and Orchids,” a four-hour drama in the works for CBS. It’s set in the 1930s and centers on rape charges being leveled against four Hawaiians for a supposed attack on a Navy man’s wife. The cast includes Kris Kristofferson, Jane Alexander, Jose Ferrer, Sean Young and Richard Dysart.

People: Lorne Greene and Michael Landon are teamed for the first time since they co-starred in “Bonanza” in Wednesday’s episode of NBC’s “Highway to Heaven.” Landon directed the program, which has Greene playing an actor in a Broadway show. . . . That same night, Betty White of “The Golden Girls” turns up on NBC’s “St. Elsewhere” as a White House doctor.

Cable notes: Home Box Office is taping new comedy specials starring Rich Little, Buddy Hackett, the Smothers Brothers, Howie Mandel and Richard Belzer. . . . Dave Thomas, who gained fame with Rick Moranis as SCTV’s McKenzie brothers, will star in a comedy special of his own for Showtime. . . . Peter O’Toole, Jeff Goldblum and Drew Barrymore have been signed to star in new episodes of “Ray Bradbury Theater” for HBO.
