Local News in Brief : Westlake Seeks Buffer Between Homes, Planned Business Park
Westlake Village officials have asked homeowners to suggest ways to buffer one of their city’s most expensive residential neighborhoods from a proposed 55-acre business park.
Developers of Kaiser Westlake Business Center have applied for permission to build 12 two-story buildings at 31844 W. Village Center Road, next to the exclusive Westlake Trails area. The neighborhood consists of custom homes valued at more than $1 million each.
An independent firm will analyze the project’s effect on the city and examine such potential problems as traffic congestion, scenic intrusion and glare, City Manager James Emmons said.
The city’s review of the development will begin after the first of the year, officials told homeowners at a hearing Wednesday night.
