Fullerton : Firm Chosen to Conduct Study of Airport Usage

Share

A Newport Beach consulting firm has been hired to conduct a study of Fullerton Municipal Airport and the types of aircraft that can use the facility.

Rawlings Enterprises Inc., which was selected over three other companies that submitted proposals, will conduct a study ordered by the City Council to examine airport noise levels as well as the size and types of aircraft using the facility.

Airport Manager Rod Murphy requested the study to update a 1976 ordinance prohibiting aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds or more than 1,000 horsepower from using the runway. Murphy told the council that “significant improvements” in technology since the ordinance was written would allow other aircraft to operate safely from the airport.
