Fire Hits Sequoia Hotel

SAN FRANCISCO —
Flames shot through the roof of the seven-story Sequoia Hotel during a five alarm fire in the city’s Tenderloin, forcing 84 residents to flee. Five firefighters suffered minor burns, cuts and bruises in Wednesday night’s blaze, fire Chief Emmett Condon said. The cause of the fire, which destroyed 28 rooms and gutted the attic, was under investigation.
