Sick Youngster’s Wish Is Granted by Donahue

Promised Rose Bowl tix to extremely ill son. Need 3. Can you help? UCLA football Coach Terry Donahue did.

Donahue, contacted by a representative from the Make-A-Wish Foundation who saw the above classified ad in The Times last week, sent four Rose Bowl tickets to 10-year-old Brice Dickerson of Fountain Valley.

“(Donahue) went out of his way and he doesn’t even know us from Adam,” said Michael Dickerson, Brice’s father. “It’s a very special thing. He got us four tickets on the 50-yard line. He didn’t even think twice about it.”

Brice, who had surgery in May for a brain tumor, has also received autographs from Steve Garvey, Reggie Jackson and the Rams. According to his father, Brice is recovering from his illness.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to terminally ill children. Michael, who has never talked with Donahue, was contacted by a representative Sunday with the news of the tickets.
